What is a typical day for you like at Concentric?
As a Team Leader with Concentric, my day revolves around balancing proactive security measures with facilitating seamless day-to-day operations for our client. I see myself very much as part of the team, and I’m always ready to step in and support daily operations whenever needed. A key part of my role is providing support to my team to ensure they are set up for success, whether that’s through guidance, resources, or problem-solving. I also maintain regular communication with the client and business partners to ensure we are aligned and delivering a seamless, high-level service. Ultimately, my focus is on leading by example while fostering a team environment built on trust, preparation, and professionalism.
How long have you been at Concentric and what part of your job do you find most fulfilling?
I have been with Concentric for a year and a half, and during that time, I’ve had the privilege of serving as an Operations lead. The most fulfilling part of my job is the opportunity to mentor and develop the individuals on my team, watching them grow into confident, capable security professionals. Seeing someone achieve something they didn’t think was possible is incredibly rewarding. I also find great satisfaction in the work itself, knowing that our efforts directly contribute to the safety and security of the people we protect. The trust placed in us by our clients is something I take very seriously, and delivering on that responsibility is what drives me every day.
What is your educational and professional background before joining Concentric?
Before joining Concentric, I spent 10 years in the private security sector, working internationally in a variety of protective and security-focused roles. This experience allowed me to operate in diverse environments and develop a well-rounded skill set in risk management and team leadership. Prior to that, I served for 14 years in the British military, where I was deployed across the globe, gaining invaluable experience in leadership, operations, and working under pressure. My time in the military built the foundation for my approach to security, teamwork, and decision-making. Both careers have shaped my professional outlook and continue to guide me in my role today.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, which helps keep me grounded and focused. I’m a keen golfer and enjoy getting out on the course whenever I can, it’s a great way to unwind and challenge myself. I also stay physically active, whether it’s through training or outdoor activities, as I believe maintaining physical fitness is essential in this line of work. Additionally, I like to travel and experience different cultures, which I feel enriches both my personal and professional perspective. These interests help me maintain a healthy work-life balance and keep me energized for the challenges ahead.
What are you most looking forward to over the next year?
Over the next year, I look forward to being part of the continued growth and development of our team as we build a premier group of security professionals. I’m excited to contribute to raising the standard even further, helping individuals progress in their skills and leadership capabilities. Seeing the team evolve and operate at the highest level is something I take great pride in. I’m committed to ensuring we maintain a culture of excellence, where everyone is driven to perform at their best. Together, I believe we can set the benchmark for what it means to be a world-class protection team.
