The situation in the Middle East remains elevated as the U.S. and Israel continue their operations against Iran while Iranian retaliatory actions continue across the region. Following the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s clerical leadership continues internal deliberations on succession. Reports indicate Mojtaba Khamenei, the late leader’s son, remains a leading candidate to assume the position.
Israeli forces continued strikes across Iran, including additional attacks in Tehran and against civilian and security infrastructure.
