The situation in the Middle East remains elevated as the U.S. and Israel continue operations against Iran and Iranian retaliatory actions continue across the region. Following the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader has been announced as Mojtaba Khamenei, the late leader’s son.
Israeli forces continued strikes overnight across Iran, including additional attacks in Tehran targeting military and command infrastructure, while also expanding operations against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon. Iran has continued launching missiles and drones against civilian and military infrastructure across the region.
